To offer you an authentic international appetizer, I am sharing my mother’s recipe that traveled the world, passing through the streets of Marrakech. The cheese and vegetable-vinegar pickled pastilla is a true culinary jewel that combines the exotic flavors of abroad with European soul. A dish that will take your taste buds on a journey!

👥 Servings : 6  |  ⭐ Rating : ★★★★☆ (4/5)

🥘 Ingredients

  • 300g of pastilla leaf
  • 250g of vinegar pickled vegetables
  • 16 triangles of The Laughing Cow cheese
  • Melted butter
  • Pepper

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Soak the vinegar pickled vegetables in boiling water for a few minutes, then dry with a clean towel and chop.
  2. In a bowl, mix the vegetables, cheeses, and pepper to form the filling.
  3. Cut the pastilla leaves in half.
  4. Place each half-leaf on the work surface, put a spoonful of filling at one end, fold two opposite sides to obtain a rectangle, then roll into a cigar shape. Stick the end to the egg yolk and repeat until the filling and pastilla leaves are used up.
  5. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the cigars and brush with melted butter.
  6. Bake in a moderately hot oven until they are well golden brown.
  7. Serve hot.
