🥘 Ingredients

  • 80g softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 450g flour
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baker’s yeast
  • Warm milk to gather the dough
  • A pinch of salt
  • Filling
  • Apricot jam
  • 3 tablespoons of dried apricots

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Soak the dried apricots in a bowl of water, then let them dry on a towel.
  2. Dissolve the baker’s yeast in 2 tablespoons of warm milk.
  3. Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the softened butter cut into pieces and work the mixture by lightly rubbing your hands together until you get a sandy consistency. Create a well in the center, add the dissolved yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, beaten egg, mix everything, add warm milk and knead the dough for 35 minutes until you obtain a soft and smooth dough. Shape it into a ball and place it in a large floured terrine, let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and spread a layer of apricot jam over the entire surface of the dough. Distribute the dried apricots, roll the dough into a cylinder shape by rolling it up on itself along its length to form a large sausage. Cut it into pieces of a thickness of 3 cm and arrange them side by side in a buttered mold. Let it rise for 1 hour and 30 minutes in a warm place.
  5. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 25 minutes.
