Here is a culinary discovery not to be missed! In the heart of the Empire State, a renowned café known for its gastronomy shared with us one of their most popular recipes for caramelized chocolate cookies. These small cakes bring together the sweet and oozy flavors of caramel with the rich and dark notes of black chocolate.

🥘 Ingredients

  • 500g butter
  • 400g powdered sugar
  • 2 tea spoons of oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • Flour according to the blend
  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • 250g black chocolate

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Put water to boil in a saucepan and place the sweetened condensed milk inside, cook for 45 minutes to obtain caramelized cream.
  2. Work the butter and powdered sugar together in a bowl until they form a creamy mixture, add oil and mix well, add eggs and continue working vigorously. At this stage, add baking powder then gradually incorporate sifted flour to form a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured work surface to achieve a thickness of 3mm, cut out circles using a round cookie cutter and place them spaced apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake in a moderately heated oven until they are golden brown.
  5. Attach two cookies together with caramel cream continuing the process until all cookies are used up.
  6. Melt black chocolate over a double boiler, smooth with oil.
  7. Dip cookies coated with caramel cream on one side into melted black chocolate, place them to dry on a waxed paper.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
